Wheat is one of the oldest crops in the world and, along with corn and rice, makes the largest contribution to feeding the world's population, making it known in various forms in all cultural circles. Today's wheat is a product of the cross-breeding of different cereals that has been going on for thousands of years.
Wheat germ oil is rich in tocopherols, especially vitamin E. It contains α-tocopherol and β-tocopherol, which give it various health benefits. [1]
While many enzymes and compounds are involved in protecting cells from the negative effects of oxidative stress, vitamin E occupies an important and unique position in the overall antioxidant protection system. [2]
