The hemp plant is one of the oldest and most important cultivated plants in human history. The oldest finds in Europe are 5500 years old and come from Thuringia. Hemp fibers can be used to make paper, clothing, ropes and many other products. Hemp oil, which is extracted from the seeds of the hemp plant, contains a variety of valuable ingredients that make it a valuable addition to the daily diet.
Hemp oil contains linoleic acid (omega-6 fatty acid) and alpha-linolenic acid (omega-3 fatty acid) in a ratio of 3:1.[1]
Cold-pressed hemp oil contains significant amounts of antioxidants and can serve as a dietary source of natural antioxidants to prevent disease and promote health.[2]
